Lights Camera Save Video Contest

Lights, Camera, Save! Video Contest

Each year, Security Federal participates in the ABA Foundation's Lights, Camera, Save! video contest for teens. One of our past winners went on to win the $5,000 prize - could you be next?!

What's the Lights, Camera, Save! contest?

It’s a national video competition that encourages teens to spread the word about the importance of using money wisely. To enter, create a short (30-second or less), interesting video that speaks to others your age about wise money use. Pick a topic that’s relevant to kids your age like budgeting, saving for college, credit scores – any financial topic you feel speaks to teens. Use the power of video to get your message across in a fun and engaging way.

Then upload your video online and email the link and a completed entry form to us by the deadline.

This contest is all about getting teenagers to really think about their financial future. Since videos must be about saving money or spending money wisely, it gets you to really think about money in a strategic way. Security Federal encourages people of all ages to make their finances a priority, and this contest is just another way we aim to help them do that.

What do I win?

Over $9000 in local and national prizes will be awarded. Security Federal will select three preliminary-round winners and reward them with $100, $75, and $50 gift cards, respectively. Their teachers will also be recognized with a $25 gift card from the Bank!

The Security Federal winner will advance to the national competition, which offers a first-place prize of $5,000, a second-place prize of $2,000 and two third-place prizes of $1,000 each. Winners of the national competition, which is sponsored by the American Bankers Association, are usually announced in March.

Luke Wiley's "A Time to Save" video was submitted to Security Federal in 2018 and went on to win the $5,000 cash prize, and Our 2017-2018 winner, Natalie Shepler, placed in the country's top 5.
